Biography
Versatile soprano, Elisa Sikula is a born and raised New Yorker, and has always been excited by the rich art that diverse music scenes have to offer. She started off her singing career as a chorister at Trinity Church Wall Street in 2007. In her eleven years at Trinity Wall Street she performed works such as Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610, Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms, Ginastera’s Turbae ad Passionem, and Bach’s St. John and St. Matthew Passions; and has been seen as a soloist in works such as Handel’s The Messiah, Vivaldi’s Gloria, and Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater.
Elisa Sikula has performed in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Madison Square Park, and the Herbst Theatre. She has been seen in productions such as Ellen Reid’s Winter’s Child at the Prototype Festival, Lisa Bielawa’s Web Series Opera Vireo, as Jaffet in Britten’s Noye’s Fludde, and the film “Love is Strange” by Sony Pictures Classics.
Elisa received her Bachelors Degree from the Peabody Institute in 2023. During her time at Peabody, Elisa studied under Tony Arnold. Elisa took a special interest in historical performance practice, and worked with the Peabody Renaissance Ensemble and was seen as the Spirit in Peabody Chamber Opera’s production of Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas. Additionally, as a versatile performer, she has been seen in works such as Bernstein’s Mass, Craig Hella Johnson’s Considering Matthew Shepard and as Flora as Benjamin Britten’s The Turn of the Screw; most recently, she has been seen as Euridice in a staged production of Ricky Ian Gordon’s Orpheus and Euridice. As a choral artist, Elisa had the pleasure of being a Choral Scholar in the Emmanuel Choir during the 2021-22 season and also as a member of Peabody Conservatory’s all treble ensemble Peabody Camerata. She is currently ecstatic to be a Choral Scholar during the 2023-24 season with the Choir of Trinity Church Wall Street. Elisa values the passion that vocal performance can bring, and is always looking to discover new ways to hone this passion.
